Appeal Description

This appeal was filed by the owner of a commercial building, against the decision of an investigating committee to dismiss his complaint to Engineering New Zealand.  The complaint concerned an engineer who was engaged by other parties in relation to the design of earthquake remedial measures on an adjacent commercial building.

Appeal Finding

The appeal was declined. The appeal panel found that the appellant’s grounds, which included alleged negligence and unprofessional conduct were not proven and that that any alleged misconduct was insufficiently grave to warrant further investigation.
