Appeal description

An engineer appealed the decision of an adjudicator to dismiss his complaint about another engineer. The complaint concerned the competence of the respondent regarding a structural assessment of an industrial building for a third party, with the two engineers having quite different views on the rating of the building.  The analysis of the engineer about whom the complaint was laid was somewhat more conservative than the other.

Appeal Finding

While the respondent could have done more by refining his approach after his analysis indicated a low building rating, the panel considers that no ground had been established for referral of the matter to an Investigating Committee.  The appeal was dismissed.
